Cardenuela to Tardajos
Via Burgos
18 km
We walked mainly roads today and 15 was on the approach to Burgos around the airport perimeter. This is where the road split into 3 different routes in . Two were on paved roadsides but the one we took was by the river, which was the best option.
Burgos is a beautiful city and the cathedral was absolutely stunning. We decided to eat ( we had Japanese) bit fed up now with Tortillas or ensalada ( what ever salad you choose ALWAYS comes with egg and Tuna).
Then spent the afternoon around the cathedral. This meant we taxied the 15 km but well with it.
In the cathedral I had my Camino moment.
Info about the cathedral….
It’s a UNESCO world heritage site .Alarmingly, there is a sculpture of Jesus on the cross said to be made with real skin and hair which legend has it needs to be shaved. It was also El Sid’s final resting place .
